WHAT COOLSCULPTING ELITE IS CoolSculpting Elite is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical fat-reduction treatment from Allergan. It uses controlled cooling (cryolipolysis) to target fat cells in a specific area. The treated cells break down and your body clears them naturally over the following weeks. There are no incisions, no needles and no anesthesia, and most people go straight back to work afterward. It is a body-shaping treatment, not a weight-loss treatment. It works best for people near their goal weight who have a specific area they want to change. Elite applicators can treat two areas at the same time. You feel intense cold for the first few minutes, then the area goes numb. Most people read, work on a laptop or rest. Afterward the area is massaged, and you may have temporary redness, swelling, tingling or tenderness. WHEN YOU SEE RESULTS Changes begin to show around three weeks and continue for one to three months. Many people choose a second round on the same area for a more noticeable result. Your plan will say up front how many rounds we recommend and why. IS IT SAFE? CoolSculpting Elite is FDA-cleared and widely used, but it is a medical procedure. Rare side effects include paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), a hardened area of fat that can enlarge rather than shrink and may need surgical correction. We review your history, examine the area and discuss every risk with you before treatment. It is not for people with cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. Most people describe intense cold and pressure for a few minutes, then numbness. No anesthesia is needed. Is there downtime? No. Most people return to normal activity the same day. Is the fat gone for good? Treated fat cells are eliminated. Remaining fat cells can still grow with weight gain, so a stable weight protects your result. How many sessions will I need?
