Thin or short lashes are one of the most common things people mention, and mascara and extensions only cover it up. Latisse grows your own lashes. WHAT LATISSE IS Latisse (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%) is the only FDA-approved prescription treatment to grow eyelashes for people with inadequate or not enough lashes (hypotrichosis of the eyelashes). It is applied once a night to the base of the upper lashes with a sterile single-use applicator. WHAT TO EXPECT Most people start to notice longer lashes at around 8 weeks, with the full result at about 16 weeks. Lashes return to how they were before if you stop using it, so it is an ongoing nightly routine. IS IT RIGHT FOR ME? Latisse is a prescription medication, so it starts with a visit. Your provider reviews your eye health and medications to make sure it is appropriate. Tell us if you use eye-pressure (glaucoma) medication, have had eye surgery, or have eye problems or inflammation. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION The most common side effects are itchy or red eyes. Latisse may cause darkening of the eyelid skin, which may be reversible, and may cause increased brown color in the colored part of the eye, which is likely permanent. Hair may grow where the solution repeatedly touches skin outside the lash line. Apply only to the upper lash line, not the lower lid. Remove contact lenses before applying and wait 15 minutes before putting them back in. Ask your provider about full prescribing information.
